Two pages from chapter 12
Same feeling, written two ways. One of them leaves room for an answer.
THEY SAY: "I MISS YOU"
"I miss you too, so much, every single day, I've been dying without you. Can we meet tomorrow? Please say yes."
"I miss you too."
THEY REPLY COLDLY
"Is that all? I was trying to be nice. You don't have to be cold about it."
"Fair enough. Hope you're well."
73 more, each with the reasoning underneath — and three tone variations so it sounds like you, not a script.
Sound familiar?
It isn't the missing them that's unbearable. It's not knowing what to do — and nobody giving you a straight answer.
"I've rewritten the same message nine times tonight. I still don't know if sending it makes things better or ends it."
The draft you keep deleting"They read it four days ago. I've built six theories out of a timestamp and I know all of them are thin."
Reading the signals"Everyone says give them space. Nobody's told me what that means, how long for, or what happens after."

The Eight Questions
Forty seconds before you send anything. One yes and the message waits until morning. Most people find it stops about half of what they were about to write.

Left on read, they need space, they're seeing someone, you caused it. The mistake, the better version, the reasoning.
24 situations coveredThe Draft Box
Write the message. All of it. Send it nowhere. The habit the whole method is built on.
Where the urge goes insteadThe Reality Check
Eight behavioural questions about where you actually stand. Shows you patterns rather than odds — and says so plainly.

Seven items, one sitting, fifteen minutes. Removes more daily pain than anything else in the book.

What readers are saying
★★★★★
"I had literally typed the same text like 6 times and kept deleting it 😭 I was so close to sending him another paragraph at like 1am. The book made me stop and actually think about WHY I wanted to text him. Ended up not sending it lol. honestly needed this."
Jessica M., 31★★★★★
"The mixed signals section called me OUT 😂 He would like my stories, randomly text me, then disappear again and I was analysing every single thing he did. I kept thinking 'ok maybe this means something'. This helped me look at the actual pattern instead of making up a story in my head. That alone was worth it."
Amanda R., 36★★★★★
"Ok so… I already sent the embarrassing message BEFORE buying this 😭😭 I was convinced I had completely screwed everything up. What I liked is that it doesn't tell you to play games or 'make him chase you'. It actually gives you examples of what to say depending on the situation. Way more useful than all the breakup advice on TikTok."
Lauren T., 28★★★★★
"I was honestly skeptical because I've bought these types of things before and they're usually just 'ignore him for 7 days and he'll come running back' nonsense 🙄 This is completely different. My situation was a 12 year relationship and a pretty messy ending, so I didn't need pickup lines or manipulation. I needed to figure out whether reaching out made sense, what I could actually say, and when I needed to leave it alone. The questions in this book helped me get much more honest with myself."
Sarah K., 42★★★★★
"Bought this at 11:47pm because I was about to text him 😂 I swear I had written and deleted the message about 10 times. The 75 messages were actually what I wanted most because sometimes you KNOW you need to say something but have no idea how to word it without sounding desperate/crazy. Found the one that was closest to my situation, changed a few words and sent it the next day. Glad I waited."

Who wrote it
I didn't set out to write about breakups. I set out to answer one question properly, because everything I read either told me to move on or told me how to manipulate someone into coming back.
So this is the thing I wanted at the time: a method rather than a mood, written by someone who takes the wanting seriously and still tells you the truth about the odds.
Rowan Vance is a pen name — I'd rather the work was judged on whether it's useful than on who wrote it. Where something is my own judgement rather than an established finding, the book says so. There's a chapter on when to stop trying, and one on the relationships that shouldn't be rebuilt at all. Those two are the reason I think it's worth it.
Questions
No, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you certainty because that's what you'd pay most for. What this does is help you stop making it worse, tell you what to say and when, and give you an honest read on whether there's anything to work with.
It argues against every manipulation tactic in the category, and gives you one test to apply to any of them: would you still do it if they could see exactly why? Jealousy games, strategic silence, engineered coincidences — all fail it.
Almost certainly not. People badly overestimate how final a bad first week is, and nearly everyone does some version of it. What matters is whether it turns out to be the start of a pattern or the end of one.
A PDF, about 100 pages. Works on any phone, tablet or laptop, and the worksheets print on Letter and A4. No app, no account. You can get the first useful thing out of it in five minutes.
Both, and it's written that way throughout. No chapter assumes your gender or your ex's, and none of the advice is gendered.
Probably. Chapter 12 covers twenty-four situations specifically — they're seeing someone, you live together, you share a child, there was infidelity, it's been six months, you were ghosted, you caused it, it was mutual.
Email within 30 days and it's refunded. No form, no questions, no attempt to talk you out of it.
You're going to do something tonight.
I can't tell you whether they're coming back. What I can do is make sure you come out of this steadier either way — and that you don't spend the next six weeks doing things you'll want to take back.
